I firmly believe metal albums should start with a thud! An explosive or crescendo like ramp into the main meat and potatoes of the record, that allows the full glory of that face-melting sound so many of us like and can pinpoint to so many bands. AASAR know about this, and this EP has all the ingredients to have your face suitably melted like the villain from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The opening track RISE OF THE DARK ETHER creates this rousing tome and ominous feeling as it builds the tension, like the Brad Fiedel soundtrack for Terminator 2, the slow movements of the T1000 through fire and that knowing sound if he gets hold of you, then shit is going down.

While there may only be 6 tracks, you are not lost for grooves and blasts which come a plenty like GPMP machine gun and the .50 calibre hitting stone and metal, thudding it to the ground in a wave of awesome spectacle. The music has references from lots of influences, but there are too many bands in a similar genre to compare, but why compare when you can just listen to this and enjoy the raw and destructive power that this EP brings you. The tracks flow in to your ear like lava; hot, unrelenting and carves whatever path it wants in to your sound receptors.

If you like bands such as Humanities Last Breath or Dagoba, ten56 then these guys are for you. Plenty of blast beats, power and groove that will see your head nod till it falls off. You’ll occasionally hear an epic scream, where the vocals and the band rise together in a large swell of metal explosion that fades in a majestic lull, like a mushroom cloud, and you are constantly pulling the obligatory “onion-face” as you agree with every beat and riff, nodding knowingly like you had the band create this EP for you, in an unrelenting assault of your auditory senses that leaves you wanting more of the same.
