“Alright dickheads listen up, I know this sucks. We’re all dumbasses, but if we just fucking lock in and plow through this, we can get it over with, all right.”

Here we are for a third time; I am yet again reviewing everyone’s favourite Scottish party slam band Party Cannon. As if two ridiculous reviews weren’t enough? After painfully yet skilfully describing the debauchery and unholy sounds that come from this band on both Volumes of Vomit and Injuries are Inevitable, I was basically asked (forced) if I wanted to volunteer (forced) my beautifully written analysis of this extreme brutal death party slam band? Is that even a real genre? Truth be told though, you should check both of those reviews out, they’re pretty outstanding as well as hilarious. Phrases I used includes nut-shrivelling, intoxicated insertion, oral onslaught, something about cuddling with a bull. I have what they call the “knack.”

Ok so, firstly Subjected to a Partying is just an EP this time around, secondly if you’re already a fan of the band, tracks one Parisian Bedbug through track four Improper Use of a Speculum are exactly what you’d expect. High impact blast beats, grinding low end, pig squealing/noises, and brutal slam riffs heavier than the fattest thing you can think of. Apparently, the army cutworm can have up to eighty percent of its body weight being fat, so heavier than that, I guess. Either way this is fucking brutal and slammy goodness wrapped up tightly in a burrito of fat ass worms? And thirdly these tracks were written to represent the band’s sound split into four different components of their musical stupidity. One for slam, goregrind, early 2000s brutal death metal and NYDM.

Think the most disgustingly brutal guitars, driven by an overachieving rhythm section that’s only there to bludgeon you and vocals (If you can call them that) which could very well be part animal, part alien, part anal and that’s what this basically sounds like. Cracked necks, ripped off appendages, tons of vomit and piss, in the form of extreme music. Throw in a shit-ton of vulgar humour and rub some guitar harmonic squeal filled nastiness on it, and you have yourself your new favourite band. Seriously though, these dudes are pretty fucking badass if you don’t already know. Besides these reviews being a total fucking blast to write, the records themselves are full of incredible musicianship and relentlessly killer fucking songs.

Tracks five, through seven, I don’t really have an opinion on, they’re basically remixes with two of them being techno/dubstep/industrial style remixes and High Tariff Overture (Ritual Remix) being orchestral and symphonic. Remixes aren’t typically my thing but in the case of this band, these dudes are so fucking weird they could write a j-pop country album, and it would probably be cool. Umm Party Cannon, if you guys do, do (ha-ha) that, that (I know, low-hanging fruit) was my idea and I want full credit. The last two songs are live tracks from Glasgow 2025. Lots of variety on this EP so, a hearty helping of haggis, neeps, and tatties for all you party slammers out there to consume. Get this in your ears and in some cases up your asses.

This being an EP I wouldn’t typically have a higher rating but Subjected to a Partying has a longer runtime than most EP’s and goregrind albums put together, plus they used the word “speculum” (vaginal tool) in a track title so deal with it.
