Atmospheric death doom band Jade is back with their second full length, Mysteries of a Flowery Dream. Dropping on 09.05.2025, the new album picks up where their debut, The Pacification of Death, left off. Where some bands try to rewrite the book on their music every time out, Jade has doubled down on the sound they created at the band’s inception. It’s an atmospheric mix of death and doom with blackened guitars, thundering drums, and vocals that range from death growls to anguished shouts.
The band’s commitment to their core sound doesn’t mean stagnation—Mysteries of a Flowery Dream feels more confident, more immersive, and even more crushing than its predecessor. The production is dense but textured, allowing each instrument to breathe within the foggy atmosphere. Guitars twist and churn through murky riffs, adding weight to the album’s brooding atmosphere. Jade’s ability to conjure a melancholic emotional landscape makes the album feel less like a collection of songs and more like a descent into some ancient, dream-haunted realm.
If you enjoyed Jade’s debut album, The Pacification of Death, Mysteries of a Flowery Dream will feel like a natural—and rewarding—continuation of that journey. It refines the band’s vision without diluting their core identity, delivering a deeper, darker, and more cohesive experience. Rather than reinventing themselves, Jade has chosen to explore their established sound with greater depth and purpose, proving that evolution doesn’t always require reinvention. Fans of atmospheric death doom will find plenty to sink into here—this is a band not just playing in the genre but expanding on its sonic boundaries.
